‘2023 Movement Is Bigger Than Peter Obi’ – Charly Boy

Veteran Nigerian singer and songwriter, Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, has opined that the ‘Obident’ movement is bigger than the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

While addressing the claims that the former Governor of Anambra State is seen as a messiah or God-sent to Nigerians, Charly Boy, in an exclusive interview with Naija News, said the movement is beyond many things. According to Area Father, the movement is beyond tribe and religion, stressing that it is the fact that Nigerians are tired of the current situation in the country. He said: “This thing is greater than Peter Obi, it just happened that Peter was at the junction when the tsunami started to happen. Obi may be the face of it but it’s bigger than him, It’s bigger than tribe, religion. It’s the fact that Nigerians are tired, saying enough is enough and we can’t continue like this. “This is all bullshit, yes, if our mumu no do now when e go do, I never tell una say APC and PDP na the same harlot mama born both of them? How can you make progress if you continue to wallow in the face of desperation and frustration and incompetency? I think that what is happening is way bigger than Peter Obi, Nigerians want a clean break from the past. That is the phenomenon that you see.” When asked to comment on the consistent attack of political activists Reno Omokri and Deji Adeyanju on LP presidential flagbearer, the legendary singer said the duo know what they are doing and he is less concerned about them. He said: “Na them get their mouth, they can be talking anything, people when know them, they know what they stand for, they know why they do what they do, so which one concerns me, so, they no even reach my son, so wetting I day comment on that.”
