Get your tissues at the ready, Emmerdale viewers, as an emotional and special episode has been confirmed amid Faith Dingle’s (Sally Dexter) tragic cancer storyline.

Fans are already being moved by the heartbreaking storyline; and not least of all the performances of the sublime Sally.

Having recently told her family of the diagnosis, Faith has confided that she doesn’t want to continue the chemotherapy.

Chas has persuaded her reluctant mum to pursue the treatment but when she gets the news that her cancer has spread and the chemo isn’t working, she makes a final decision to take control of the end of her life.

Discovering that Faith is stopping her chemo, Chas (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain (Jeff Hordley) will embark on a night of the souls, which sees them reflect on the family tragedy and take themselves to the past.

An Emmerdale spokesperson explained: ‘Cain has a complicated relationship with Faith, and Chas is unable to comprehend his apparent indifference to Faith’s decision to end her treatment.

‘Chas is sure he’ll have regrets if he doesn’t reach out to her, and soon a night of soul-searching ensues.’

FROM ITV Strictly Embargoed until 07.00am Wednesday 11th May 2022 EMMERDALE?S FAITH TO RECEIVE DEVASTATING CANCER DIAGNOSIS Heartbreaking scenes are ahead for Emmerdale viewers when lovable Dingle matriarch Faith, played by Sally Dexter, receives the diagnosis that her breast cancer has returned.
