The royal family have celebrated Meghan Markle’s birthday by sharing pictures of the last time she was in the UK.

Images of the duchess at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee – her only public meeting with the royals in two years – were posted on the official Twitter accounts of Prince Charles and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

Meghan has turned 41 today and will likely spend it in private with Harry and their children, Archie and Lilibet.

William and Kate’s official twitter account posted an image of her attending the St Paul’s Cathedral service of thanksgiving in June, which marked the Queen’s 70-year reign.

It featured the words: ‘Wishing a happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!’

Charles and Camilla posted a nearly identical photo of Meghan from the same service, alongside a balloon emoji and the words ‘Happy birthday to The Duchess of Sussex!’

Meghan and Harry have established a new life for themselves in the celebrity enclave of Montecito in California.

They have bought a multimillion-pound home and launched a non-profit foundation after stepping down as working royals.

The couple have gained significant financial freedom, signing lucrative deals – thought to be worth well over £100 million – with Spotify and Netflix.

It has given them the capital to pursue their new lifestyle and public goals.
