Two Feared Killed As Gunmen Attack Enugu Police Checkpoint

Two policemen have been feared killed as gunmen attacked a police checkpoint located at Gariki, MTD area in Enugu South Local Government Area of the state.

Naija News gathered that the gunmen opened fire on two officers on duty and other persons during the attack on Thursday morning. It was learned that residents ad commuters scampered to safety during the shooting which went on for minutes. As of the time of filing this report, it is unknown if the gunmen attacked the MTD police station which is close to the checkpoint. In a related development, bandit terrorists have reportedly kidnapped two Chinese nationals and killed thirteen security agents during an attack on a mining site in Niger State.

Naija News gathered that the attack happened on Wednesday afternoon in Ajata, Aboki in Gurmana ward of Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. Speaking with reporters on Thursday, the Co-convener, Concerned Shiroro Youth of Niger State, Sani Kokki said the gunmen attacked the mining site and opened fire on the workers and security operatives. He also stated that the bandits kidnapped a yet-to-be-identified number of people including two Chinese expatriates.
